Horizonte SLC reopens room at Caldeira Institute
With the presence of Executive Officers from SLC Agrícola, leaders, and employees, the Horizonte SLC room at the Caldeira Institute in Porto Alegre (RS) was reopened on February 13. Inaugurated earlier in April 2021, the SLC Agrícola room — and later the Horizonte SLC, the company's innovation movement — had been completely destroyed due to the floods that hit Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul last May. Next to the room is the SLC Urban Farm, which had also been affected by the floods but was restored in 2024.
The reopening included a meeting of the Board of Executive Officers and, afterwards, a toast for guests. The restoration works began in August last year and now the room, which already had 12 workstations, has an upper floor space with 16 seats for meetings and training sessions. "Having a physical space that represents 'our environment for innovation' is an important symbol for the work we are doing to mature the company's culture of innovation. The people who work at SLC Agrícola already recognize Caldeira Institute as an extension of our company and that this place is safe and suitable for thinking differently and seeking innovation in daily life,” said Daniele Lopes, Coordinator of Innovation and Strategy Management.
In his speech, the Head of Innovation and Strategy Management, Frederico Logemann, highlighted the importance of the room for the company and also for the Caldeira Institute hub. "For us, this is a very important moment. We have been here at Caldeira since everything was 'practically just wilderness' and I want to thank everyone who engaged in this reconstruction. Now we have a reference room at Caldeira and that makes us very proud," he said.
“The Logemann family and SLC Agrícola have played a crucial role in the revitalization efforts of this area in Porto Alegre. Reopening this space, as it stands now, reflects the image of SLC as a robust company," said Pedro Valério, Executive Director of the Caldeira Institute.
