SLC Agrícola’s Machine #1,000: the past restored and alive in the present
The SLC Group has always been recognized for its pioneering spirit and innovation. The machines produced by the company made history in Brazilian agribusiness, standing out for their quality and efficiency. A striking example is machine #1,000, produced by John Deere, which was completely restored and became one of the attractions of Farm Day, held in July at Pamplona Farm (GO). The President of the SLC Group, Eduardo Logemann, expressed great satisfaction with the restoration work and made a point of taking photos on board the machine.
The harvester, acquired last year, was originally produced in 1978 and had deteriorated and out-of-service parts. After approximately ten months of work, a team of five people, led by the Farm Maintenance Coordinator, Tiago Oliveira, successfully restored it completely, returning its functionality. "At first, we were scared by the condition of the machine. We decided to use the old pieces as molds for the new ones and we managed to recover it. We felt gratitude for completing the service and satisfaction to see that many operators who worked on these machines were happy to relive so many emotions," he said.
Tiago mentioned that the intention is to use machine #1,000 in the next soybean harvest, alongside machine #100,000 (produced by John Deere), also belonging to the farm, and a more modern one, providing a view of the evolution of this type of equipment.
According to SLC Agrícola's Mechanization Manager, Guilherme Argenta, the purchase of the previous historic machine motivated the company to seek other antique equipment. According to him, machine #1,000 was found in Erval Grande (RS) and taken to Pamplona Farm because it is the most visited unit and because it already has the machine #100,000. "The goal is to revive the origins of SLC and keep this history alive within the company, so that everyone can learn more about it." Now, we are going to try to find a threshing machine and perform the same restoration work," he said.
"Seeing our SLC 1000 restored to perfection and fully operational, ready for harvest, thrilled us." Alongside the "giant" — the JDeere 100,000 model, we can observe the technological advancement in agribusiness. Our machine #1,000 was a seed that germinated and to this day bears fruit, not only for the SLC Group, but also for Brazilian agriculture," said the President of the SLC Group, Eduardo Logemann.
