SLC Agrícola enters the main sustainability index of the Stock Exchange
SLC Agrícola has taken an important step in consolidating its presence on the B3, the country's official stock exchange. As of January 2023, the company will be part of the ISE B3 index portfolio, the main indicator of market sustainability, according to the last index composition preview, announced on December 16. At the beginning of 2022, the company had already entered two other B3 indexes on sustainability: ICO2 and IGPTW.
The ISE B3 index, launched in 2006, tracks the average performance of share prices issued by companies that stand out for their commitment to corporate sustainability. One of the objectives of ISE B3 is to support investors in investment decision-making and to induce companies to adopt best sustainability practices, since ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) practices contribute to the continuity of business. Currently, 46 companies are part of the index and the new portfolio should have 70 companies.
According to the HR, Sustainability and IT Director of SLC Agrícola, Álvaro Dilli, this is a very important advancement, which will make a difference for the financial market and for the company. "This is one of the most important achievements of 2022, as it will directly impact the consolidation and protagonism of the company in ESG. In addition, it demonstrates the company's high-level governance and management. We are now listed in all three B3 sustainability indexes, and this is a great accolade. Congratulations to our teams, leaders and directors”, he says.
For the Chief Financial and IR Officer of SLC Agrícola, Ivo Brum, joining this main sustainability index is a milestone in the company's financial history, including the fact that, in 2022, the company completed 15 years of presence on the Stock Exchange. "The entry into the portfolio of companies of the ISE B3 index further reinforces our commitment to environmental issues. We are a company that has as one of the main objectives to advance in sustainability and this recognition will give us more visibility in the financial market, but, on the other hand, it will require a greater commitment of our management with ESG practices ", he said.
