SLC Agrícola holds 2nd Innovation Day
On December 20, 2023, SLC Agrícola held the 2nd edition of its Innovation Day, which showcases the company’s innovation journey during the year. Held at Instituto Caldeira in Porto Alegre (RS), the event was attended by management, employees from diverse areas and representatives of startups, who presented the main results and projects related to innovation fronts. The event was also webcast to all employees via YouTube. (Watch the full event here)
In his opening address, Frederico Logemann, Head of Innovation and Strategic Planning Management, talked about the importance of the event in showcasing the company’s innovation initiatives and emphasized that the company is creating a more innovative culture. “The company of today competes with no one except with the company it was yesterday,” he said.
He was followed by Carlos Aranha, Ecosystem Leader, who spoke about SLC Ventures and introduced the first guest of the day - Geraldo Maia, founder of Pink Farms - to talk about the Pink Farms case, since the company is one of SLC Agrícola’s main innovation partners.
After that, Daniele Lopes, specialist in Innovation and Strategy Management, Ronei Sana, Digital Agriculture manager, and Rafael Rosa, IT manager, participated in the panel discussion on “Sharing the lessons from the Innovation Journey at Horizonte 1,” together with Maximiliano Carlomagno, founding partner of Innoscience. Each of them spoke about the major numbers from their respective areas: H1, Digital Agriculture and Digital LABS.
One of the surprises of this year’s event was Demoday of the Ideias&Resultados project. Sérgio Gualdi, partner at Innoscience, took the stage to explain the dynamics, after which the representatives of each idea presented them and their justifications. The following proofs of concept (POC) were presented and voted by the Executive Board for rollout:
— Automation of Flight Logs — Iago Lima (Digital Agriculture)
— Platform for Precision Agriculture Management — Guilherme Morais (Digital Agriculture)
— Process of Assessing Sprayed Areas through Analysis of Flow and Precipitation — Ana Rocha (Mechanization)
— App for Compatibility between Biologicals and Chemicals — Latoya Ruschel (Bioplant)
— Control of Per Diem of Service Providers via App and Power BI — Cleiton Sampaio (Paiaguás Farm)
— SAR Images for Localized Applications during Periods of Intense Cloudiness — Renan Tavanti (Digital Agriculture)
After the presentations, the Innovation Day trophy was awarded by the Executive Board to projects in diverse categories, in a ceremony presented by Daniele Lopes. The award-winning projects were:
— Innovative Engagement: Renan Tavanti, João Faccin, Douglas Pedrini from the Digital Agriculture area, and Ismael Malaquias from Finance at the Palmares Farm (BA).
— Innovative Leadership: Guilherme Argenta (Mechanization Manager), Gustavo Arrial (Agroindustry Manager) and Ronei Sana (Digital Agriculture Manager)
— Innovative Project: AgroEats — Digital LABs (Bruno Cruz and team), Geplant — Sustainability (Paula Silvério and team), Caderno de Campo project (Ronei Sana and Digital Agriculture and IT teams)
— Destaques Jornada de Inovação Project: Cerensa Agro project — Paula Silvério and team, Metaverse project — Alisandra Reis and IR team
Later, the panel discussion “Lessons and Opportunities of the Innovation Diagnosis” was held, in which Frederico Logemann, Juliana Vencato, People and Corporate Communication Manager, and Daniel Alves, CEO of Innoway, discussed the results of the Diagnosis, the changes being implemented in the company, opportunities in innovation and people management, as well as the advances in internal programs, such as Ideias&Resultados, which focuses on intrapreneurship.
Closing the event, the CEO of SLC Agrícola, Aurélio Pavinato, recalled the creation of a team focusing on innovation at the company and highlighted that the results are positive. “When I analyze the progress we made and see what we witnessed here today, I believe this is a success story. That’s why, I congratulate all the teams and employees involved. In a company such as ours, innovation means organization, process, development and work. With the structure we have, we are advancing remarkably and are recognized as an innovative company,” he concluded.
