SLC Agrícola is one of the best companies to work for
SLC Agrícola, one of the world’s largest producers of grains and fibers, garnered national recognition for being one of the best companies to work for, according to the consulting firm Great Place To Work (GPTW), in the "Large Company" category. The awards ceremony, which was held online on Monday night (19), announced the 150 companies that figured in the ranking compiled by the consulting firm in partnership with the magazine Época Negócios. The evaluation considers various aspects of human resources, such as compensation, gender and pay equality and quality of life.
"The award, which is one of the most important in the Human Resources area, is the result of our strategy to make employee development a key operational pillar. Each of the over 4,000 people who work with us, whether permanent or seasonal, is responsible for making us a sustainable company and for our responsibility in advancing agriculture in Brazil. The actions are connected to Our Big Dream, which reflects our aspiration to impact future generations by capturing operational efficiency gains, always respecting the planet and taking people into account," said Aurélio Pavinato, CEO of SLC Agrícola. The company already had garnered the Great Place To Work award for agricultural companies and in regional editions (for companies based in Rio Grande do Sul).
Over the past few years, the company has conducted various employee development actions, such as:
New people management model: involves a methodology that offers more support for leaders in team development. Based on the business partners concept, specialist employees work closely with managers to guide and support actions to improve organizational climate, training and leader succession planning.
Agriculture 4.0 Training Program: focused on training agricultural workers in new technologies to support the company's growth through innovation and the digitalization of agriculture. The program covers specific content, such as drone pilot courses, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and precision agriculture technology. This year, SLC Agrícola is expanding the program for agro-industrial and cotton processing employees. In 2019, 8,350 hours of training were administered.
Leadership Academy: development program to improve the behavioral competencies of the company's potential leaders and managers, with a focus on team management and strengthening strategic alignment. In 2019, the 244 leaders and 76 potential leaders participating in the Academy received training, especially in agile mindset, which included an onsite workshop in Agile Leadership and distance learning programs on a platform with over 100 online courses, such as Empowerment, Project Management, Scrum for Productivity, Intrapreneurship and Design Thinking.
Youth & Adult Education (YAE) and Digital Inclusion Spaces: The program, which the company has been developing since 2016, has reduced illiteracy at the company by 70% and caused positive impacts throughout local communities by influencing relatives, neighbors and friends, who have been motivated to further their studies. Rooms equipped with computers were built to facilitate the completion of online courses by employees. Two YAE classes graduated from their programs in 2019, and another 141 students have enrolled to continue their programs. Through the incentive, SLC Agrícola has increased the educational qualifications of its teams.
