Over 90% of the 2020/21 soy harvest has been sold
Commercialization of the 2020/21 Brazilian soybean harvest reached 90.8% of expected production by October 8th. It is still below the average of 91.5% over the last 5 years, according to a survey by the consultancy firm DATAGRO.
Brazilian cotton: going beyond the borders of the world
The 2020/21 cotton harvest officially ended in September. Now, the fiber goes to processing. According to data from the National Supply Company (Conab), the 2020/21 harvest is expected to reach 2.35 million tons. Brazil is among the world’s five largest producers alongside China, India, the United States and Pakistan. The country is also among the largest exporters and went from fourth to second place in exports in the last 10 years.
Cotton production in Brazil may grow by 15.5% in the 2021/2022 harvest
The consultancy Safras & Mercados projected that the Brazilian cotton lint production area is expected to grow 15.5% in the 2021/2022 harvest, compared to the previous period, going from 2.38 million to 2.75 million tons.
