Conab estimates new record crop thanks to better climate
The National Supply Company (Conab) predicts a new record grain harvest. The expected increase should total 289.6 million tons in 2021/22, 14% more than in the previous season. According to Conab, Brazilian grain production was boosted thanks to favorable climate changes, due to increased investments by farmers in their crops in the face of high prices. Soy, corn, rice, beans and cotton represent almost 95% of Brazil’s total grain production.
Partnership aims to increase the share of cotton in world trade
The Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa) renewed its partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), to increase the participation of cotton in world trade, through the “Cotton Brazil” project. The entity plans to make Brazil the world’s largest cotton exporter by 2030.

The Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa) estimated that the processing of the 2020/21 cotton harvest in Brazil reached 30% on September 2, compared to 26% in the previous week.
Soy breaks a new record and reaches 133.8 million tons
The Brazilian soybean harvest reached 133.8 million tons in August, breaking a new record, with an increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month’s estimate and 10.1% compared to the 2020 harvest with its harvest already completed, according to data from the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production (LSPA), released on September 9th by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
