SLC Agrícola launches second edition of AgroExponencial
SLC Agrícola believes that innovation and adopting new technologies is critical to the sustainability of its business and to the future of agribusiness. Given the importance, it is launching second edition of its program to forge connections with startups. AgroExponencial is now accepting submissions from companies that already have a tested minimum viable product (MVP) and are interested in offering solutions to the challenges mapped by SLC Agrícola, which this year are related to the areas of Operations, Human Resources & Sustainability and Sales & New Businesses.
The startups selected could receive an opportunity to execute a pilot project with expenses paid and the support of a consulting firm. Those delivering the best performance could be contracted as suppliers, partners or even be engaged in discussions on a potential investment in an ownership interest.
Investor Relations and Strategic Planning Manager at SLC Agrícola, Frederico Logemann, explained hos the company prepared to carry out the program with total support for startups: “AgroExponencial is part of our innovation strategy to be an early adopter of new technologies to assure our continued leadership in agricultural efficiency. The program has the full support of senior management and support from the backoffice teams, including legal, financial, procurement and information technology, to facilitate relations with startups.”
In the 2019 edition, AgroExponencial delivered concrete results with seven pilot projects conducted and the three startups approved for rollout. Another two startups are in the phase of post-pilot discussions. SLC Agrícola also draws on the support of the consulting firm Innoscience for conducting the program.
Submissions
Startups from all regions of Brazil can submit proposals until May 3 to participate in AgroExponencial. At the end of May, the companies qualifying will be announced, which will participate in Pitch Day with the Company’s senior executives and the sponsors of each challenge. The companies selected to move on to the next phase will undergo an immersion in which they will design, jointly with the teams from SLC Agrícola, a commercial proposal for a Concept Test of the solution. Lastly, the Company will assess the results to identify the possibility of commercial partnerships. To learn more about the program, go to the site.
