Early corn harvest in Mato Grosso
The early corn planting in the state of Mato Grosso has already shown changes in the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), compared to the previous harvest. The Index is used to identify the conditions of crops through remote sensors that capture images. Based on the information collected, it is possible to determine factors such as nutrition, plant health, water deficits, among others.
The 2021/2022 cereal crop indicates an estimate of 107.31 bags per hectare, similar to the results of the 18/19 and 19/20 harvests, in which they presented yields of 110.91 sc/ha and 109.02 sc/ha. Instituto Mato-Grossense de Economia Agropecuária reinforces that the scenario remains optimistic for production of the cycle. The Institute also points out that “at last, climatic factors remain clear in the state, however, according to TempoCampo, between 20 mm and 300 mm of accumulated rain is expected in much of the state”.
