Soy harvest progresses to 67.8% in the national territory
According to data collected by the Consulting firm DATAGRO, by March 11, the 2021/22 Brazilian soy harvest reached 67.8% of the cultivated area. This increase in comparison with the previous week was 10.4%, practically aligning with the historical average of 10.5% for the period. The figures are higher than those recorded in the same period last year, 53.3%, and the average of the last 5 years, 55.4%.
The states of Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul face difficulties due to the heavy rains that affect the regions. The other oilseed producing states are heading towards the end of the cycle, with Mato Grosso leading the list, registering 92.6% of the area harvested on the 11th. The forecast for the coming week is for rainfall interspersed with periods of sunshine in the producing regions, allowing even greater progress to be made.
