SLC Agrícola, through the SLC Institute, will, throughout this year, make donations to entities that serve people in situations of social vulnerability in cities in the states where its farms and headquarters are located, in Porto Alegre (RS ). In total, associations, entities and families from more than 30 municipalities, located in seven Brazilian states, will receive basic food baskets. The amount made available by Instituto SLC for the corporate social responsibility action will be 180 tons of food.

This week, the National Opening of the 2021 Corn Harvest took place. At the event, several analysts brought their perceptions about the crop for the next harvest. Conab, at this point, maintains the harvest estimate of 66.9 million tons in this second corn harvest.

For the 6th consecutive time, SLC Agrícola, one of the world’s largest grain and fiber producers, won the main categories of the Latin America Executive Team, an award created by Institutional Investor that measures the performance of organizations on different fronts, such as the performance of CEO’s, CFO’s, from the Investor Relations (IR) area and company practices in ESG (sustainability, social responsibility and corporate governance).

The CEO of SLC Agrícola, Aurélio Pavinato, participated in a debate promoted by Valor Econômico, in partnership with the Coalition Brazil Climate, Forests and Agriculture, on the productive potential of the Brazilian Cerrado, the importance of environmental preservation in the face of recent climate changes , and the initiatives of companies and bodies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the region – the region is home to 75% of Brazilian agribusiness and is responsible for 24% of greenhouse gas emissions in the country –

In July, the Board of Directors of SLC Agrícola carried out visits to farms located in two states in the Central-West Region. In total, 11 Units were visited over five days, in the week between July 12th and 16th. The farms included in the itinerary were those of SLC Agrícola in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS) – Planalto and Pantanal – and Mato Grosso (MT) – Pioneira, Perdizes, Paiaguás and Planorte –, in addition to the farms acquired from Terra Santa, also in MT : Ribeiro do Céu, Mãe Margarida, Guapirama, São José and Terra Santa.

SLC Agrícola closed the second quarter of 2021 with a net profit of R$447.2 million. The company, one of the largest grain and fiber producers in Brazil, recorded an increase of 128.1%, compared to the same period last year.
