SLC Agrícola participates in the 2021 Agribusiness Summit
SLC Agrícola, one of the world’s largest producers of grains and fibers, was part of the Summit Agronegócio 2021 program, promoted by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo on the 16th and 17th of November. With the theme “Brazil at COP-26”, the event debated the issues addressed at the 26th Climate Conference, which ended on the 13th, after around 200 countries adopted the Glasgow climate agreement, in Scotland.
Planting of the 2021/22 cotton harvest reaches 0.20% of the estimated area
Cotton planting in the 2021/22 harvest reached the mark of 0.20% of the planned area according to information collected until November 18, with an increase of 0.07% in the week, according to the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa) . The entity also reported that the area sown in São Paulo is currently 33% and in Paraná, 43%. The forecast is that the 2021/22 harvest will increase by 12.6% compared to the previous harvest, reaching 1.53 million hectares of cultivated cotton.

For the fifth consecutive year, the company was highlighted in the Agricultural Production category. Furthermore, for the first time, it was recognized in the Sustainability category, competing against 178 companies.
Favorable weather and increased planted area may cause growth in corn production in the 2021/22 harvest
Considering the possibility of an early harvest in January for soybeans, Agriconsult estimates that Brazil will be able to start planting the second corn crop within a more favorable climate window for cereal productivity. The corn harvest is the largest in the country and sowing begins after the harvest and removal of soybeans from the fields.

SLC Sementes, a brand from SLC Agrícola, aimed at providing Brazilian producers with access to seed varieties with productive potential and quality, launches next Wednesday (1st December) the soybean portfolio for the 2022/2023 harvest. During the season, the company offers farmers 23 varieties of seed, an increase of 64% compared to the previous period.
The 2021/22 soy harvest could reach 144.3 million tons
Brazil’s soybean harvest in 2021/2022 could reach 144.3 million tons, according to Agroconsult estimates. The survey shows that favorable general climatic conditions and the growth of planted area amid good prices contribute to production. If the record number is reached, growth of 5.2% would be confirmed compared to the 137.1 million tons of the previous harvest.
