Second corn harvest reaches 2.37% of the planted area in Mato Grosso
The second corn harvest in Mato Grosso advanced 1.12 percentage points in the last week and reached 2.37% of the planted area in the state, according to the bulletin from Instituto Mato-Grossense de Economia Agropecuária (Imea) released on Friday the 27th. The second corn harvest in Mato Grosso 2021/22 is at the most anticipated level in the history of the state of MT, according to the Institute.
Work is ahead of schedule compared to the same period last year, when harvesting reached 0.9% of the area, and surpasses the average of the last five harvests, which is 0.07%.
In the previous cycle, the harvest had a major delay due to the soy calendar, the first records of cereal harvesting were only released by the institute on June 11th.
Cereal harvesting is most advanced in the southeast of the state, with 3.12% of the area harvested, followed by the mid-north, with 2.65%. In the central-south region of Mato Grosso, 2.05% of the area has already been harvested; in the northeast, 1.48%; in the northwest, 2.56%; in the north, 2.21%, and in the west, 1.07%.
