SLC Agrícola one of five Top Open Corps in Agribusiness for 2022
For the second consecutive year, SLC Agrícola is being recognized as one of the companies most open to innovation from startups in 2022. SLC Agrícola is one of the world's largest producers of soybean, corn, and cotton and consistently strives to promote innovation throughout its production chain through means of research incentives and spaces that allow for the exchange of experiences with startups. Top Open Corps’ online awards ceremony was held on October 18, and SLC Agrícola was among the top five nominees in the Agribusiness category.
SLC Agrícola offers its annual Venture Builder through its brand Horizonte SLC, which is focused on the expansion and development of new business initiatives. Venture Builder seeks to accelerate the progress made in relation to new products, services, and business models developed through means of partnerships. Each year SLC Agrícola also promotes Agro X, a program offering partnerships with startups aimed at addressing internal challenges across diverse corporate areas, and Ideas&Results, which seeks to promotes intrapreneurship within the company.
For Frederico Logemann, Head of Innovation at SLC Agrícola, new technologies are essential to agribusiness since they allow for economy with resources, such as pesticides, fertilizers, water, energy or fuel, which allows companies to increase production while reducing environmental impacts. “These are the kinds of results that we see with innovation in general, which is why we’re so open to working with startups. Every year, through our Agro X program, we call on startups to develop solutions that we would like to see become a reality. And this year we are lucky enough to be recognized as being among the TOP Open Corps once again. It’s something that is really rewarding for the whole team, ”Logemann said.
