Webinar on expansion project and SLC Agrícola’s outlook for 2021
The expansion project of SLC Agrícola, with the merger of Terra Santa (TS) and the lease agreement with Agrícola Xingú, were addressed by CEO Aurélio Pavinato at the webinar "Growth of SLC Agrícola.” Approximately 400 people, including clients, shareholders and industry players, watched the presentation.
Pavinato highlighted the Company's optimism about its expansion prospects and projected a 40% growth in the planted area. He reaffirmed that the negotiation with Terra Santa will be concluded by the first half of this year. The transaction, with investments of R$753 million, involved the merger of five farms owned by TS in Mato Grosso situated close to four SLC Agrícola farms. As for the lease negotiated with Agrícola Xingú, Pavinato explained that the operation involves two farms: one in Bahia, for 15 years, and the other in Minas Gerais, for 10 years.
He stated that the company aims to be a leader in ESG, based on the Company's purpose (Our Big Dream): To positively impact future generations and be the world’s leading agricultural producer in efficiency and respect for the planet. "The challenge of growth is a major concern for us now. We believe we can achieve it with efficiency," he said. He also pointed out the importance of a healthy integration with the new employees. "We want them to feel welcomed so that they can start practicing SLC Agrícola's values and, together, we can maximize synergies between the companies," he added.
