We joined the Circular Connection Movement!
SLC Agrícola reinforces its commitment to global sustainability by joining the Circular Connection and Net Zero Ambition Movements. Since 2015, our company has been committed to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, in areas such as human rights, labor, environment and the fight against corruption. In 2023, we took an important step in our journey towards sustainability and joined the Net Zero Ambition Movement. And this year, we joined the Circular Connection Movement, both initiatives linked to the Global Compact.
What does joining the Circular Connection Movement mean for SLC Agrícola?
— It reinforces our commitment to the circular economy, seeking to reduce waste and maximize the reuse of resources in our operations. This means a continuous review of production processes, innovative sustainable solutions and a more responsible environmental approach;
— The transition to a circular economy helps SLC Agrícola not only to minimize environmental impacts but also to create more sustainable economic opportunities, increasing our competitiveness and alignment with the global demand for sustainability.
In 2022, the Circular Economy project was implemented at SLC Agrícola as a pilot project at Fazenda Pamplona (GO). Later, this model was implemented at the Parnaguá (PI), Parceiro (BA) and Pioneira (MT) farms. This year, the project was expanded to the Paladino, Panorama and Piratini farms (all located in Bahia), and by the end of 2024 it will be implemented at the Planalto (MS), Pantanal (MS), Paiaguás (MT) and Palmares (BA) farms. The goal is to implement the Circular Economy project on all SLC Agrícola farms by 2028.
For SLC Agrícola's employees, these actions reflect the importance of each individual in the process of transformation of our company. The pursuit of the circular economy requires the involvement of everyone and innovation in all fields of activity. For stakeholders, we emphasize that our decisions are based on recognized global commitments, ensuring that we are on track to deliver not only economic, but also social and environmental value. Joining the Global Compact connects us to a global network of companies, governments and organizations that are united by the same goal: to build a more sustainable future.
