We are featured in the Best in ESG Awards
SLC Agrícola was recognized, for the third consecutive time, with the Best in ESG Awards, granted by Exame Magazine. The awards recognize the actions of companies in social responsibility, environment and governance. The company was featured among the winners of the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages category. The winning companies were announced on June 17, in São Paulo.
The Best in ESG is the evolution of the traditional EXAME Sustainability Guide, one of Brazil's main guides on social responsibility for over two decades. The publication was created in 2000, as Exame Guide to Good Corporate Citizenship, and was renamed as the topic evolved in society. In 2020, the methodology was revamped to give more emphasis to ESG criteria.
SLC's Sustainability Strategic Map has defined five objectives to promote the ESG agenda: make the company's operations carbon neutral, considering scopes 1 and 2 net carbon emissions; certify SLC's farms under the Integrated Management System (ISOs 14001, 45001 and 16001); reach 100% of employees with Elementary Education concluded; reduce the lost-time accident frequency rate to zero and implement the "Sowing Sustainability" Program in 100% of the municipalities where SLC Agrícola operates.
"Every year, SLC Agrícola reinforces the social and environmental commitments that have guided its actions so far and have brought important recognitions like this one. This award demonstrates all efforts to implement ESG actions in our operations and represents an incentive for us to continuously improve all our processes in our business areas," said Álvaro Dilli, Director of HR, Sustainability and IT.
