Sales volume set a new record, closing the period with net revenue of R$2.3 billion, representing a 19.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Adjusted EBITDA came to R$943.7 million, a growth of 34%, with adjusted EBITDA margin of 40.5%. Net income was R$510.7 million, an increase of 123.1% compared to the first three months of 2024.
In a notice to the market released on May 12, we highlighted a series of acquisitions of companies and land in the period. A total of 47,822 hectares of land were purchased from Agricola Xingu, with 39,987 of them in the state of Bahia and the remaining 7,835 in Minas Gerais. In addition, the Company acquired Sierentz Agro Brasil Ltda., totaling around 100,000 hectares in leased areas, and a non-controlling interest of 47.8% in SLC-MIT Empreendimentos Agrícola S.A.
“The beginning of 2025 has been highly positive for SLC Agrícola, with results that underscore our commitment to building a promising future in Brazil’s agribusiness sector. The acquisitions, as well as our harvests and revenues, which have surpassed those of 2024, confirm that we are on the right path, solidifying our position as an increasingly relevant, innovative and sustainable company in the industry,” said Ivo Brum, Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer.
The quarter’s cash generation was negative at R$1.4 billion, which was anticipated and reflected the payment of R$636.5 million for the acquisition of the Paysandu and Paladino farms and property in Unaí (MG). Additionally, the Company made crop input purchases and made a final payment for its non-controlling interest in SLC LandCo. Nevertheless, the Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA ratio was 2.27 times.
Capital expenditures (capex) in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to R$1.03 billion, which is comparable to the 2024 total of R$1.1 billion. The high investment level is mainly due to several acquisitions, which represented 81% of total capex, or R$842 million. Of the remainder, 12% was allocated to the purchase of machinery and equipment (10 planters, 9 tractors and 16 sprayers) and the remaining 7% was invested in other assets.
