SLC Agrícola receives an ‘A’ score from CDP for its environmental leadership
SLC Agrícola, one of Brazil’s largest producers of agricultural commodities, has been recognized by CDP, the global nonprofit environmental organization, for its leadership in corporate transparency and its performance in the Forests and Water Security categories, securing a spot on the organization’s esteemed annual “A List” in both categories.
The ranking positions the company among the global leaders that exhibit comprehensive transparency, advanced environmental governance, and substantial progress toward achieving environmental resilience.
"Being part of the CDP ‘A-List’ for Water Security and Forests demonstrates how SLC Agrícola integrates environmental management into the company’s strategy. The recognition is directly associated with our zero deforestation policy implemented since 2021, and the adoption of certified regenerative agriculture practices, the responsible water management, and control over the production chain are fundamental pillars supporting the resilience of agribusiness in the face of climate challenges,” says Tiago Agne, Sustainability Manager at SLC Agrícola.
CDP maintains the world's largest dataset of environmental information, which is widely used to inform investment and procurement decisions that foster a net-zero, sustainable, and planet-positive global economy. The organization operates the world's only independent environmental disclosure system and assesses thousands of companies annually. The scoring is based on a rigorous and independent methodology, aligned with the parameters of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). It evaluates the thoroughness of companies' reports, their understanding of environmental risks, and the evidence of best practices, including the establishment of ambitious goals and the implementation of verified actions.
In Water Security and resource efficiency, SLC Agrícola adopts technologies such as remote sensing and the use of sensors for the localized application of crop chemicals, which allow for significant reductions in water consumption—up to 90%.
"Congratulations to all the companies that are part of the CDP A-List. Institutions that have achieved an "A" score are demonstrating that environmental ambition and business strength go hand in hand. High-quality data provides leaders with the confidence they need to make decisions that benefit the planet, ensure long-term competitiveness, attract capital, and protect natural systems. These organizations demonstrate what can be achieved when transparency serves as the foundation for action," reiterates Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP.
In 2025, 20,000 companies were scored out of more than 22,100 that submitted their data through the CDP platform. During the same period, 640 investors, representing US$127 trillion in assets, requested that CDP collect data on environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities.
