SLC Agrícola receives Best in Agribusiness Award
SLC Agrícola won first place in two categories in the 18th edition of Globo Rural's Best in Agribusiness Award: Agricultural Production and Sustainability. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 30, in São Paulo (SP), and was attended by SLC Agrícola's Director of HR, IT and Sustainability, Álvaro Dilli. "A great pride for all colleagues who make this company grow and achieve the best results. Congratulations to the more than 5,000 employees,” he said.
For Dilli, the outstanding award as Sustainability Champion of Globo Rural is a recognition of the intense work that SLC Agrícola has been doing for many years to reduce the impact of its operations and stimulate environmental preservation. “We have a zero deforestation policy, we are pioneers in the environmental preservation of the Amazon, in partnership with IPAM, and we invest in technology and certifications that allow us to produce with respect to biomes,” he said.
He pointed out that SLC Agrícola's expansion guideline is based on the lease of mature land, joint ventures and the integration of livestock farming (ILP) and forests. "In the last harvest, our soybean, corn and cotton plantations had a smaller scale of irrigated areas," he points out.
Globo Rural's Best in Agribusiness Award analyzes companies in several segments, based on their financial results from the previous year, such as net revenue, indebtedness, liquidity and margin, in addition to social and environmental responsibility. The companies are awarded in 22 categories, and this year companies in four special categories are also honored.
