SLC Agrícola receives gold certificate on greenhouse gas emission
SLC Agrícola was recognized by the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program with the Gold Seal, which is the highest level for the transparent way it makes data related to the emission of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) throughout its production chain available to the public. The certificate reflects the company’s commitment to aspects of sustainability and combating global warming.
Created in a partnership between the World Resource Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the GHG Protocol covers standards for accounting for GHG emissions and removals for cities, companies, value chains, the agricultural sector and product life cycles, among others. The protocols are mostly developed comprehensively and adapted to the reality of each country.
The Gold Seal is the highest level of certification of the program, granted to companies that meet all transparency criteria in the publication of their greenhouse gas inventory. The Brazilian GHG Protocol Program was the first to create an online platform that assists organizations in producing and disseminating their GHG emission inventories.
For Álvaro Dilli, SLC Agrícola’s HR, IT and Sustainability Officer, the transparency with which the company declares greenhouse gas emissions in its production is essential to reduce the indexes. “We are fully aware that it is necessary to reduce emissions and we know that, for this, we must scale what we effectively need. This certificate recognizes this collective consciousness that SLC Agrícola disseminates among its collaborators and implements in several actions aiming at a more sustainable planet”, he said.
