Cotton sowing shows significant progress in Mato Grosso
According to a survey by Instituto Mato-Grossense de Economia Agropecuária (Imea), cotton sowing had a significant increase in the state of Mato Grosso in relation to the last cycle, reaching 69.12% of the areas completed since 01/28.
The strong pace contributed to the work being 6.03 p.p. above the average of the last five years, when sowing reached 63.09% and 37.41 p.p. compared to the same week of the previous harvest.
The region that registered the lowest percentage of sown area was the western part of the state, with 59.38%. The “ideal” window for cotton cultivation in Mato Grosso ended on 01/31 and the areas that were sown outside of this period are at risk in terms of the productive results of the crops.
