Regenerative agriculture is the theme of a panel at the Planeta Campo Forum
On the afternoon of November 11, Aurélio Pavinato, our CEO, participated in the panel "Regenerative Agriculture as a Global Standard," during the Planeta Campo Forum – COP30 Special, in Belém.
The executive highlighted the benefits of regenerative agriculture, which marks a new phase in sustainable production, based on the efficient use of natural resources and soil health.
He noted that agriculture has already overcome major challenges, such as soil degradation, which was addressed in Brazil through direct seeding, crop rotation, and the use of cover crops, ensuring more fertile and productive soils.
“Global productivity has increased by 1.5% per year over the past 50 years, but Brazil has doubled that rate, reaching 3% annually,” he pointed out.
Pavinato also highlighted SLC Agrícola’s efforts, replacing 17% of chemical crop protection products with biological alternatives in the last season, and reducing the use of herbicides and insecticides by 9% through targeted applications—an achievement made possible by digital agriculture.
Another advancement is the adoption of circular economy practices, now in place at 11 farms, with full waste recycling and production of organic fertilizer.
According to him, these pillars—healthy soils, efficient management, and circular economy—are establishing regenerative agriculture as the path toward increasingly sustainable production.
Álvaro Dilli, HR and Sustainability Director, and Márcio Silveira, Director for Region 3, joined Pavinato during the AgriZone event, organized by Canal Rural.
