Recognition for our best practice in the Circular Economy
Our best practice in Circular Economy was recognized by the Global Compact – Brazil Network, a UN initiative to promote corporate sustainability, during the Ambition 2030 Forum, the largest corporate sustainability event in Brazil. The case “Circular Economy Program at SLC Agrícola — Transforming Waste into Living Soils” was highlighted in the Circular Economy category at the Circular Connection Movement. The initiative shows how we transform organic waste into biofertilizers, applied to our own crops — closing the cycle of organic matter in a regenerative way, with environmental, operational, and productivity gains. The award ceremony took place in São Paulo (SP), at the Santander Theater, on June 4. The Sustainability Manager, Tiago Agne, represented the company at the award ceremony.
Our best practice was selected in the Circular Economy category of the Circular Connection Movement and is about the company's Circular Economy Program. Aiming to eliminate waste sent to landfills, the initiative stands out for its composting of organic waste, which is converted into biofertilizers used in its own crops. Thus, the cycle of organic matter is completed in an efficient and regenerative manner on the farms, fostering environmental, operational, and productivity gains.
"This recognition reinforces that we are making concrete progress in building a more regenerative agriculture, connected to the Sustainable Development Goals and the challenges of the 2030 Agenda. The Circular Economy Program is a solution that combines technology, management and purpose, transforming waste into agricultural inputs, reducing environmental impacts and promoting soil health. It is a production model that generates value for rural areas, for society and for the planet, in line with our vision of long-term sustainability", says Tiago.
This recognition reinforces our commitment to sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligned with the UN Global Compact's Ambition 2030 strategy.
