For the first time, soy could reach 40 million hectares planted
This Thursday (9/30), the National Opening of Soy Planting – 2021/22 harvest took place. During the event, the analysis made by the Safras & Mercados consultancy firm was presented, which points to an increase in the planted area of the crop in Brazil by 40 million hectares for the first time, attracting international attention.
With an increase expected in the area of soy, crops should grow by 2.3% over the total sowed in the 2020/21 harvest of 38.93 million. In terms of values, the sector has been working with a new harvest price of BRL 150.00 in some regions, with slightly higher or lower variations. According to the consultancy firm, the prices are well remunerated and producers can advance in commercialization. It is estimated that around 26% of the 2021/22 soy harvest has already been sold.
