Imea detects progress in corn sowing
In an analysis carried out up until the 11th, by Instituto Mato-grossense de Economia Agropecuária (Imea), corn sowing in the state progressed by 15.18% compared to the previous week. Of the total area, the portion already sown reaches 57.09%, and the expectation is that at least 85.39% of the area will be sown within the ideal window. Following this projection, the crop harvest will be 10.69% above the average of the last five years and 36.19 percentage points in relation to the previous harvest.
The central-south region of Mato Grosso was the region most affected by the high volumes of rain in recent weeks, with 7.35% progress in planting, with a total of 26.85% of planted areas. Despite the difference in comparison with the general estimate of the state, the low results are historically common in the region.
Even so, the scenario for the next two weeks should be decisive in determining whether or not the harvest will reach the 85.39% mark of planted area within the ideal period.
