Conab estimates new record crop thanks to better climate
Brazil’s National Supply Company (Conab) predicts a new record grain crop. The expected increase in 2021/22 should be 289.6 million tons, 14% more than in the previous season. According to Conab, Brazil’s grain production was boosted by favorable climate changes and higher investments by farmers in their crops on account of high prices. Soybean, corn, rice, beans and cotton account for almost 95% of Brazil’s total grain production.
Conab estimates total corn harvest of 116 million tons, soybean harvest of 141.3 million tons, up 3.9% from the previous cycle, and cotton lint harvest of 2.7 million tons, up 15.8%.
