History, projects and research

History

Fazenda Planeste is located 220 km from the municipality of Balsas (MA), south of Maranhão. It started its activities on 10/30/1997, in a wooden “shed”, divided into accommodation for collaborators, cafeteria, maintenance, warehouse and a collective bathroom. At the time, there was no electricity at the Unit. There were only 30 collaborators, soy was planted and millet used as coverage. Today, the Farm has 265 collaborators, three headquarters and plants cotton, soy and corn.
