SLC Agrícola participates in the IFAMA World Conference
SLC Agrícola participated in the 35th IFAMA (International Food and Agribusiness Management Association) World Conference, one of the largest global agribusiness events, held in Ribeirão Preto (SP), from June 22 to 26 with the theme “Leveraging Food and Bioenergy with Innovation and Sustainability”. This was the first time that the event was held in Brazil. The previous edition had taken place in Almeria (Spain).
Our company was an official sponsor and served as a judge in the Student Case Competition during the Conference. The competition involved students from about 40 countries, representing 10 different universities, who were to find solutions to challenges presented in a case by SLC Agrícola. The case was developed by Harven Agribusiness School, in partnership with the company, providing participants with an immersive experience in solving real problems in the sector. The proposals were presented to three distinct panels of judges, based on age and divided into undergraduate, graduate, and early career groups.
Leaders of SLC Agrícola participated in the event. Frederico Logemann, the Head of Innovation and Strategy Management, was one of the judges of the competition, which began on the 22nd, evaluating the proposals presented by the students. The three winning teams were announced on the 26th.“I had the privilege of serving as a judge at the IFAMA event, and it was fascinating to see youth groups from around the world delving into our case and the growth challenges of SLC Agrícola. The students did a great job, as they came up with very interesting solutions to the challenges presented by the case", he said.
On the third day of the event, the CEO of SLC Agrícola, Aurélio Pavinato, was one of the speakers. With the theme "The Future of Farming", Pavinato spoke about how technology, sustainability and global trends are redefining the future of agriculture and food production.
The conference brought together professionals from the agribusiness sector, including thought leaders, executives, managers, academics, producers, and researchers, who discussed industry trends, challenges, new technologies for food production, and sustainability proposals.
